Biography - Sarah Bishop

A San Diego native, Sarah Bishop began her musical journey at age 7, when she first began piano lessons. Music quickly became her passion, and by the time she graduated high school she already had a paying position as a church pianist and knew that music was what she wanted to do as a career.

She attended Point Loma Nazarene University, graduating in 2011 with a double major in piano performance and music education. Throughout college, she had many opportunities to play both solo classical music as well as perform in various ensembles, including choirs, piano trios, and piano duos. Sarah began teaching private piano lessons in 2008 including teaching Certificate of Merit students. In the summer of 2011, she even had the opportunity to teach music in Africa, teaching elementary music classes in Ghana and teaching private piano lessons and tutoring music theory in Uganda.

Currently, she is a member of MTNA and MTAC and continues to teach students at all ages and levels at studios throughout the county. Sarah also still continues to actively perform in churches, with choirs, and in any other venue she can manage to fit into her schedule. She counts herself very fortunate that she is surrounded by music every day of the week, and would not have it any other way. .
