Biography - Andrew Krause

Andrew Krause is a dedicated teacher and performer of a wide range of musical styles. Born and raised in San Diego, Andrew became captivated with the guitar at an early age. In high school, he began taking guitar lessons with Eric Price, primarily learning a range of popular music, such as alternative and punk rock. Since high school, Andrew has studied at the University of San Diego, where he will receive his Bachelor Degree in Music Composition next spring.

While at USD, he has studied classical guitar with Colin McAllister, and classical composition with Christopher Adler. During this time period, Andrew has also been studying more popular styles, such as jazz, blues and rock fusion, with Tim Quinn as well as the National Guitar Workshop.

Outside of the classroom, Andrew has been performing these popular styles in San Diego and Los Angeles for several years, first with Pivotal Motion then ArvoSoul. For each group, Andrew was a principle songwriter, applying his knowledge of composition to a slightly different style. Simply put, he has a contagious passion for all things music.
