Biography - Jarel Paguio
Born and raised in San Diego, Jarel Paguio began taking up the piano at the age of 8, continuing lessons up through his years in college. Throughout his growth as a musician, his influences have developed from a wide array of musical styles, including rock, jazz, country, hip-hop, electronic, and others.
Over the years in high school and college, Jarel has been part of various musical ensembles, such as singing in choirs, playing percussion for band and orchestra, and playing piano in jazz bands. He has also performed in other outside groups in a range of styles. Among his work with local singer-songwriters and bands, he is currently the pianist and keyboardist of an eclectic pop group with local guitarist, Bryan Bangerter, named "The Whole Shebang"; a jazz trio called, "The Portraits"; and a pop-rock band named, "While We're Waiting". Alongside these groups, Jarel continues to play as a solo musician for weddings and other events.
In 2010, Jarel graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education.
